Proof of activity changes (Comprovativo de Alteração de Atividade)

Understand what a change-of-activity declaration confirms and find the right proof when activity codes, tax status or other registered details change.

What it is used for

  • Explain a change in tax registration to an accountant or an organisation requesting proof.

  • Compare the original declaration with later changes and check the details reported.

Fictional practical example

Miguel adds training services to his existing consultancy activity. He keeps the change declaration to explain the new code to his accountant, together with the start declaration.

Points to check and differences

A tax amendment is not a professional licence or proof of income. The document records a declaration at a particular time; another amendment may follow. If current VAT status is requested, check whether the separate VAT status certificate is also needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is changing an activity the same as registering a new one?

No. A change declaration updates details of a registered activity. The start declaration proves the opening; the documents serve different purposes.

Does the last declaration I saved always show my current status?

Not necessarily. There may be later declarations. Review the history and check the date and details the recipient needs to confirm.
